The document viewer shows your imported documents next to the workbook. You snip from it, search in it, and open it from any snipped cell to see the source.
Open a document
- Click Documents on the Blast Audit tab, then click a document.
- Or click a cell that has a snip: the viewer opens the document at that snip.
To change document without going back to the list, click the document name at the top of the viewer (Switch document).
Display size
The viewer opens in the Blast Audit task pane, on the right of the workbook. To see more of the page:
- Click Open in floating window in the viewer toolbar to show the viewer in its own window instead of the pane. Only one floating window can be open at a time: close it before opening another. The button does not show in an Excel that cannot open dialog windows.
- Widen the task pane by dragging its left edge.
- Zoom between 60 % and 300 % with the zoom buttons, or pick a preset in the viewer's ⋯ menu.
Image quality
There is no image-quality setting. The viewer draws each page from the PDF stored in the workbook. If a page looks blurry when you zoom in, the source file itself is low resolution, which is common with phone photos and fax-quality scans. Rescan the paper at a higher resolution, or ask the client for the original PDF, and import the new file.
Search the documents
Use the search box to find a word or an amount across your documents. Click a result to snip it as text into the selected Excel cell.
Clicking a cell that has no snip also fills the search with that cell's value, so you can find where a number comes from.
Snip from the viewer
Choose a snip tool on the ribbon or with its shortcut, then drag a frame on the page. The snips article lists the tools and shortcuts. Press ? in the viewer to see every shortcut.
The viewer's ⋯ menu also holds Snip colors…, Undo last delete, the Snip recycle bin, Auto table suggestions and Auto-advance.
A page does not display
If the viewer shows "Page N could not be displayed.", click Retry. If the page still does not show, close and reopen the document. If OCR on the document is empty or still running, the viewer opens with a banner and a button to run OCR again. If you see "Failed to fetch PDF data", see Keep snips and links when you move, copy or rename a sheet.
