A Blast Audit session in Excel lasts 30 days. There is no inactivity timeout: closing Excel or leaving it idle does not sign you out. If Blast Audit asks you to sign in more often, one of the causes below applies.
Why you are asked to sign in again
| Cause | What to do |
|---|---|
| Your 30-day session ended. | Sign in once. The next 30 days start again. |
| You clicked Logout on the Blast Audit tab, on this computer or another one. | Logout signs you out of the add-in on every device. Sign in again on each device. |
| You chose Continue in read-only mode last time. | Read-only mode is not remembered. Click Sign in instead. |
| You use a different computer, Windows session or Mac user. | Each one needs its own sign-in. |
| Office or browser data was cleared on your computer. | Blast Audit keeps your session in Office storage. If it is cleared, sign in again. See below. |
Signing out of the Blast Audit dashboard in your browser does not sign you out of Excel.
Office data is cleared every time you log off
Some firms clear the Office cache or use profiles that reset when you log off, often on shared computers, remote desktops (RDP) and virtual desktops. Blast Audit then loses your session each time.
Ask your IT team whether your profile keeps Office add-in data between sessions. If it does not, they can exclude the Office web add-in cache from the cleanup, so your session survives log-offs.
Sign-in does not finish
Blast Audit opens sign-in in your browser. On Excel on the web, it always uses the browser.
- Click Sign in in the pane. The pane shows Waiting for sign-in.
- Complete sign-in in the browser tab that opened, with your work email, Google or Microsoft account, then click Connect account.
- Come back to Excel. The pane updates by itself.
If the browser tab did not open or you closed it, click Open again.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Sign-in took too long and expired. Start again. | You have 10 minutes to finish in the browser. Click Sign in again and complete it straight away. |
| You are signed in, but Excel could not load your session. Try again. | Click Sign in again. If it repeats, close Excel completely and reopen it. |
